2007 Appreciative Summit: A Vibrant Spiritual Community

As interests and passions were fueled by the activities of the October 20th Summit, the fifty participants formed innovation groups to brainstorm possibilities and actions to enliven our church. The spirit of each group is mirrored in its possibility statement and lives on as participants align with existing teams or create new teams:

Membership
A multitude actively participating in vibrant spiritual community.

Outreach
Unity Renaissance reaching out to offer authentic caring services which empower others through the power of God's love to be self-determined co-creators of their lives.

Rites of Passage
A joyful process creating responsible, connected adults into a supportive, loving community.

Education Ministry
With a firm foundation in Unity Principles, the Education ministry empowers people of all ages and backgrounds to live a prosperous, healthy, love-filled, creative life with a deeper connection to self-creation, Spirit and all people.

Music
Unity Renaissance's music program embraces Unity principles, embodies diversity, expresses joy.

Creative Arts
All-inclusive ministry expressed through the arts: fine art, dance, music, writing and other creative expressions… WHATEVER!

The collective wisdom emerged as the groups identified their shared values and participants individually expressed their top future image themes in response to the questions: "If Unity Renaissance could be at its best, which themes would be prevalent?" and "What do you want more of? In order of overall preference:

Unity Principles, Laughter/Fun/Joy, Acceptance/Diversity/Welcoming
Compelling Message/Music/Meditation, Spiritual Experience/Growth,
Authenticity, Sacred Space, Music, Connection,
Family, Unity, and Safe Harbor

What's next? We've taken a big step towards identifying what we care about. How this out-pictures is up to each of us. What do you want and how are you willing to contribute to the well-being of your church and its continued unfoldment? Opportunities abound. See any minister, staff, team or lay leader for support.
