Reverend Laura Barrett Bennett is the Senior Minister here at Unity Renaissance Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is a third generation Unity minister, who grew up attending the Unity church that was founded by her grandmother, Reverend Mildred Park, in Fairfax, Virginia.

Coming to us from Unity World Headquarters near Kansas City, Missouri, Rev. Laura taught for the adult and ministerial education programs for thirteen years. For most of that time she served as the Chairperson of Biblical Studies and Skills, becoming known throughout the Unity movement as a highly acclaimed instructor and workshop facilitator. Earlier in her career, Rev. Laura held the position of Senior Minister at Unity Church of Flint, Michigan, for more than seven years, during which time she coordinated retreats and conferences, and served as the President of the Great Lakes Unity Region of the Association of Unity Churches.

Rev. Laura authored the Unity tape set The Wisdom and Power of Scripture: Part One, Truth and the Gospels, and is currently writing a series of books on the metaphysical interpretation and practical application of the Bible. She plays the piano, composes music, and sings, and lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, Larry, a retired Kansas City Police Sergeant.
