Beloved,
On Sundays, we’ve practiced a meditation inspired by Genesis, Isaiah and The Way of the Heart:
Let a little water be brought, wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
Hear the Voice for God whisper in your ear: “You are precious in my sight and honored and I love you.” This Voice recognizes you as Christ, as God’s very own child.
Now imagine the Voice of Christ within you saying to the Divine Self as you: “I am precious in my sight, honored, and I love you.”
Feel that.
This is Unity.
It is from here that we observe our lives as if watching the waters, the waves, the ripples that represent the effects of the thoughts, beliefs and actions we focus upon.
Every Sunday, we drop into our collective pool of awareness our vision, mission and affirmations. This is intentional. It is what binds us together and gives the community direction.
As we approach this next season together, I am inviting our engaged members and congregants to incorporate these statements into our daily practice. Are you willing to set aside time to focus upon the divine idea in the Mind of God called Unity Renaissance Spiritual Life Center?
I am sensing the advent of a new era, and I believe this collective practice is powerful.
The next season begins now with Consecration Sunday.
This is an intentional conversation that invites us to be mindful of what we treasure and where our heart abides. This will inform our budget. From a spiritual business perspective, our budget is an outer tool that reflects the values of our community.
Our vision and mission are not only like pebbles we drop into our collective awareness, but more like boulders or glaciers dropping into the ocean’s edge. Imagine the impact our shared vision and mission can have in our lives and in the world.
I invite each of us to spend time in daily contemplation, prayer and meditation focused upon this.
As we sit under the tree and observe the life of Unity Renaissance, let us know that each of us has the ability and power to focus our attention on what we create next.
What we perceive as the effects of Unity Renaissance in our lives and the world demonstrates our values. When things feel “off,” we can turn to our values to help us realign. Our values are the qualities we focus upon to keep us on course.
Consider adding time and attention to contemplating, affirming and meditating upon our Unity Renaissance Core Values:
Love: With open hearts, we behold, affirm and embrace the highest and best in each person.
Acceptance: All people are welcome here.
Creativity: We give our spiritual gifts in diverse and inspiring ways.
Spirit-Centered: Attuned to God, we emanate peace, love and wisdom.
Community: We care about one another and cherish opportunities to give, love, serve and celebrate together.
As we observe the waters, the waves, the ripples at Unity Renaissance, may we endeavor to see what we say we value in every thought, word and action.
Where we perceive its absence, may we be a positive causal agent for change by affirmatively contemplating, envisioning, and speaking the word that our sight may shift as well.
Together, as we practice, we become all that we say Unity Renaissance is—and we indeed transform our lives and world.
I’m really looking forward to the next two weeks. The message that is unfolding for this Sunday lays the foundation for our next new season.
