It takes a village at Unity Renaissance…..and it’s great to know we have a committed group of people that work in sacred service as volunteers and as devoted group that coordinate all those activities. From all the work that is required to make the Sunday Service happen (thanks to the Music Team, Audio/Visual group, Ushers, Greeters, Hospitality and Kitchen team, Youth Ed teachers, Book Store, Chaplains and more), along with all the daily tasks needed to keep the facility and weekly activities moving forward (thanks to the staff, Office Angels, Count Team, facilities supporters, Outreach Team and more), we have a “village” that comes together for the love of the Unity Renaissance and our local community. We certainly appreciate all those people committed to making our spiritual home a welcoming and loving space.
Judi Meyer, our founding minister, would always talk about her focus “to keep the doors open and the lights on”. I found this to mean not only are we paying the bills on our mortgage and utilities, but also that our consciousness is “open and on” to allow God to be at the heart of ALL our activities. I find it easy for me to keep the physical part of the “doors and lights” operating. As one of the Board of Trustees Treasurers, I am always striving to ensure we are using our financial resources in the best way possible and with a “frugal” focus. The Board appreciates your offerings and gifts to Unity Renaissance – those gifts ensure our spiritual home is maintained and ready to host our services and classes. As we discussed at our last Community Forum, Unity Renaissance is meeting its budget objectives but slightly behind in our income for the first few months of 2025 – again, it takes “a village” to fund and support the programs and services that allows our community to transform in the world. We are steadfast in our belief that we will continue to manifest the funds needed to keep Unity moving forward. Thank you, God!!
If you know me, you will know I am a “get it done” kind of person. I am challenged in keeping my consciousness “open and on”. I am striving to stay present and listen more in my day-to-day interactions. It’s not always working, but I am catching myself, slowing down my reactions to events and being more self-aware of my words and responses. I am working on it all the time and appreciate those people around me that set the example (thanks Rev Ann) and also give me feedback (thanks Sondra). The world is busy, but I do not have to be. I can remain calm and be supportive of those people right in front of me, right now (I think Richard Mekdeci wrote a song about that….thanks, Richard).
I am grateful for all those people at Unity Renaissance that makes “the village” a place where we have “the doors open and the lights on”. I am especially appreciative for all those incredible people, like Judi Meyer, that established a place on Eden Way that is our spiritual center – their talents, time and gifts created Unity Renaissance as we know it today. There are not many places in the world where we can come together, speak the truth of God and share about ourselves……and learn about ourselves. It is my honor to continue to support Unity Renaissance with my gifts (money and time) to ensure that “the doors are open and the lights are on” for the current and next generation of people that find Unity Renaissance their spiritual home.
Happy Memorial Day weekend….I will be praying and thinking about all those Americans that gave their lives to ensure our freedoms today. Best wishes and love, Ed Rosequist
You say empower? I say… and I believe. And I can hardly wait to see where it leads us next.
