Something Wonderful
Throughout the month of May, our Music Team led us in singing Something Wonderful by Harold Payne. I’ve been singing it ever since. Every time it comes to mind, my heart lifts. During my years at Agape International Spiritual Center, Michael Bernard Beckwith would often declare, “Something wonderful is happening,” and I’ve carried that practice with me.
What I’ve discovered is that we don’t need to know what the “something wonderful” is. We simply become willing to declare it, expect it, become aware of it, and behold the evidence of it throughout our day.
This is what practicing the Keys to the Kingdom feels like. We follow the desires of the heart, allow love to guide us, focus our intention, practice allowance, and learn to trust life as it is. Then, even in moments we may be tempted to judge, we now begin to notice the good, the grace, the messenger, the unexpected blessing.
As Rev. Ann speaks this Sunday on surrender, perhaps surrender is not giving up, but opening ourselves to the possibility that something wonderful is already unfolding.
Every Sunday, we affirm spiritual awakening in our lives and in the world. As Jeshua teaches in The Way of Mastery, when we commit to teaching only Love, the universe conspires to bring us the very people and experiences that support our awakening. These are messengers.
This week, my messengers have included dragonflies, a frog resting on a lily pad, heartfelt moments in classes, prayer chaplains gathering in love, our staff and volunteers co-creating this beloved community, and even the release of emotion held within my body during a yoga class.
So many wonderful things are happening.
For the rest of this month, I invite you to notice them, name them, and share them with someone. Then join us the rest of the month as we sing this song together in joy!
I Love You,
Reverend René
