September 18, 2025

Two years ago today I took the first of many steps that would carry me 500 miles from St. Jean Pied de Port, France to de Santiago Compostela, Spain, known as the Camino Francés. This first day was the most challenging with an 18-mile hike over the Pyrenees from France into Spain. It was not only the distance, but the elevation that contributed to the level of difficulty. An unexpected storm kicked up with high winds, sheets of rain, thunder and lightning that made it seem life-threatening. I embarked upon my journey alone.

Happy September

I am so grateful for the resurgence of energy that is happening at Unity Renaissance.

Our Re-Imagine Series is in full swing now. We have been through transitions. Now we welcome our transformation era into God's highest and best idea of who we are in the Mind of Spirit, what we are as Christ Be-ings, and how we serve by extending the Peace, Love and Joy to all!

The words of Nehemiah dropped into my awareness today: I am doing a great work, and I cannot come down. Nehemiah 6:3

The Power of Pilgrimage

There were certainly shadow experiences connected with being raised in Catholicism. At some point, these experiences became steppingstones for healing. My personal healing has helped me to also receive and embrace the many gifts of my religious upbringing. This has contributed to my unique soul print and who I am as spiritual leader and teacher. For instance, I am totally attracted to anything called a "pilgrimage" especially when they last 40 days! I'm “all in” on Lent, Advent, and walking pilgrimages.

Home Base

My back yard was my whole world growing up. It was the safe place between home and the adventures that awaited in the woods beyond. There was a young red maple tree just outside the back door on the side of a hill. This tree was designated as "home base" by the kids when we played hide and seek. I remember when I was "it" hiding my eyes by that tree counting 1-100, 2-100, 3-100 and so on till 10. I'd open my eyes and go seeking to find all those hiding. If they could pass by me and get to "home base" before I tagged them, they were home free.
